Unit Duties / Information:

The airfield at Valley River was constructed as an auxiliary landing and take-off strip for No. 10 SFTS at Dauphin which was opened March 5, 1941. The creation of this extra field provided an decrease in the amount of time spent at No. 10 by students. In this manner, they were prepared for operational training units and, consequently, for placement with overseas units.

The field at Valley River was closed at the same time as was the school at Dauphin – April 14, 1945.
